Awarded Dr.-Ing. in 1986 at the Institute for Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Karlsruhe (Structural Property Correlation of Oxide-Ceramic Materials).

Practical professional experience in the areas of nuclear research, materials science, mechanical engineering and technology transfer.
